Chapter 7. The Battle of the Hell Hounds. Part - 2/3

"He's not here." Silverfried turned from the pestful girl.

"Then where is he?" Cutsy asked with a smile. "I have a dinner date with him tomorrow."

"What makes you think I would know."

Cutsy held the bear up to her face, wiggling it's left arm as if the bear was waving to Silverfried. He responded by curling the edges of his lips and turning from the girl.

"Aww…Mr. Snuggly thinks you don't like him. He's getting awfully sad, why must you be so cruel to poor Mr. Snuggly?"

" I don't have time to play games with a silly girl. My job is to protect Terimiune."

"Mr. Snuggly says you're lying. He says you know exactly where Mr. Clemintine is…what's that Mr. Snuggly?" She asked holding the doll to her ear with a shocked and curious expression. "No! You mean Silverfried knows that Mr. Clemintine is plotting against Spire and he hasn't told anyone! Yes, he has been a very bad boy, hasn't he?"

Silverfried's eyes grew wide as he turned to the girl.

The girl smiled with a small laugh as she waved childishly to him.

Silverfried found his voice unable to form words quickly, bewildered at the girls powers of obtaining knowledge. "You wouldn't under-."

"Mr. Snuggly says he knows exactly why you're keeping Mr. Clemintine a secret from Spire." She grinned viciously. "He also says tha-….what?" Immediately her childish expression vanished as she looked at the doll with a look of disgust. "What did you say?... Damn you." She whispered, turning to Silverfried with a look of disgust that was at the point of maturity that he believed was unobtainable to this child who had only seen her give expressions which were gay to a fault.

"It seems-" The girl said in a tone much lower then accustom. "Mr. Snuggly sides with you over Leopon's objectives." She looked down at the doll for a few moments. "…Fine." She said after finally glaring up at Silverfried. "I'm not going to tell Leopon about what you're doing." She said looking as if she had just done something painful.

"What on earth are you-."

"Shut up!….You shut up too." She ordered the toy, cramming it into her bag and marching off.

"Wait, you said you had a dinner date with Noel. How did you manage to find him?"

She stopped and turned her head a bit. Her cold expression fractured by the appearance of a very minor grin. "Oh, I just made a few friends." She winked before turning once again about to skip off once again when suddenly she stopped once again.

"What?" He asked, not hiding the eagerness in his tone for her to take her leave.

She stared at him, back to her bag then once again to him, with a look as if trying to solve a math puzzle. "I never would have guessed. You 2 look nothing alike…"

"What are you talking about?"

Her face returned to her normal smile. "There's going to be a lot of problems at those farms for your guard but don't worry. I sent 1 of Mr. Leopon's friends to go help him out. Mr. Snuggles says you're brother is going to give you a lot bigger problems to worry about very soon."

Freya quickly scooped up Mimi into her arms as she did a large leap across the ever growing spider web of black vines. It was impossible not to step on any of them as the speed she was running, but she chose her footing carefully, stepping only on those she believed not wide enough to grab her leg. She noticed once the web had connected with the web of the other arching leg, they proceeded to grow in size. Before Freya was even halfway through the maze of webs, they were now as high as her ankles.

Ellen was noticeably further behind. Unlike Freya, he was not wearing armored shoes. Carefully stepping over them, he now was reduced to a small crawl. Freya turned back in horror, it was obvious they were growing too large for any of them to escape, now approaching the height of her knees.

"Damn it." Freya clenched her teeth looking around desperately, she was more then halfway across but it was becoming obvious that they weren't going to make it.

"BROTHER!!" Mimi screamed aloud. Ellen looked up with a look of dread as he saw the 2 of them surrounded. He looked down at the Blackhounds around his legs. Gritted his teeth, clenched shut his eyes and kicked the closest web fiercely. As he expected, it recoiled in fear, as did all the web around him.

Freya gasped as web began to quickly slither away up. Freya smiled looking over at Ellen, but it didn't last long as Ellen was now in full sprint towards them, able to predict what was about to happen. Freya turned to look at the pillar, closest to them when the obvious has dawned on her as well, the leg was going to recoil with the rest of the Blackhounds and collapse under the weight of the steadily approaching wall which was still carefully climbing up the pillars for support. Quickly Freya turned and ran along side Ellen, clenching hold of Mimi as tightly as she could, as if the small child would be safe amongst her body warmth.

A lurching groan emitted behind them as the slime leg began to quiver and shake, soon it started spiraling clockwise as many points on the leg began thinning rapidly. Finally, near the top of the arch, it swirled so hard it severed from separate from larger mass, and almost immediately the wall drooped heavily in the large gap between the 2 standing legs and the single leg which fell the ground, squirmy wildly about like a severed tail of a gecko.

Freya didn't have time to be relieved it did completely fall, she could see could now see the city wall in view over the hill. She also saw multiple soldiers running towards them.

"Run!!!" She called to them.

"Get in." 1 of the young solders ordered Freya as he stepped forwards, holding up his shield which immediately created a large red barrier that appeared as though it was a circle of flames around himself and the other soldiers that was growing progressively larger. Freya jumped into the barrier placing Mimi on the ground and fell to her hands and knees panting.

"Are you alright?" Mimi gasped grabbing hold of her brother who also breathing hurriedly.

"Y-yes I'm fine."

Freya turned to Damien. "Are you sure this will protect us from the hounds?"

"I'm sure." He nodded. "Watch out..." He said as he suddenly broadened his stance looking up. Freya stood up, taking a few steps away from the barrier's edge as the slime steadily approached. Mimi's whimper turned into dread as the wall soon casted a shadow upon them all and the sky could only be viewed by looking straight up.

Then all at once, the world erupted, sending everyone but Damien off their feet. Or rather, it seemed the inside of the barrier had it's own gravitational rules. The slime was quickly swallowing the barrier whole, like it was being drizzled upon it from above until they were all left in a glowing darkness created by the sun emitting through the transparent black liquid.

Mimi screamed, hiding her face into her brother's chest. Ellen stared at Freya with quivering eyes, obviously only having enough courage to shelter his sister.

"Why is this happening so fast?" Freya turned to Damien.

"I-I don't know." Damian who appeared to be calm but his voice showed the obvious difficult effort he was having to give to keep the shield up.

Freya bit her lower lip, it was impossible for her to pretend to be amazed by Damien's seemingly magical shield. The other 3 soldiers had simply dumfounded looks on their faces, but Freya could only assume it was more from the Blackhounds then the shield. Freya wanted to grab hold of it, learn what it knew, but she knew the Helixes could just as easily be her enemies as Chronicle Spires themselves.

Besides surprising the shield with her sudden presence may cause the barrier to drop. No, she had to make sure her first target was Crescent.

"What do we do now?" 1 of them men asked. "It's not like the Blackhounds to subside from any ground it's made unless there is rain."

"So what? We have to wait here until the rain season!?" Another soldier tried to joke, but with an unintentionally worried questioning tone.

"I-I hope not." Damien said, now with sweat upon his face. "I can only hold this stuff for so long…"

Freya's eyes widened with that comment. She assumed with Damien here, that must mean they were indeed safe, but it seemed as though he was as clueless as the rest of them. Only the rosary controlled the Blackhounds, was that a secret to all but the old man who wore it? How could that be, she thought that was their primary means of achieving their goal.

Almost an hour had past in silence. Mini had complained of sever back pain for a bit, only now feeling the pain from the fall she had taken but soon fell asleep in her brother's lap, exhausted from the running. Ellen looked as though he was anticipating something to jump out at him in a dark room as he starred about at the slime while Freya merely hugged her legs, rested her chin upon her knees and stared out into the black abyss.

"How hard is it to keep up that barrier?" 1 of the men asked.

"Not too bad." Damien smiled. "It all depends on the shield's mood."

"Mood?"

"Yeah…right now he's not in a very good mood though."

"Your shield has a mood?"

"Of course it does." Freya said offhandedly. "All weapons have a soul and unique personalities that are formed from the ingredients used to make them and the behavior of those who wield them until they mature." After she said this she had only just noticed that the only 1 in the area who wasn't worried was the consummately energetic Floral Velvet, her optimism was comforting and lifted her own spirits a bit.

1 of the men scoffed and shook his head. "I guess it makes sense that the only girl who managed to become a soldier would be eccentric."

Freya sneered for a moment and returned to staring off out into the darkness.

"Even if that were true, his shield wouldn't be considered a weapon would it?" 1 of the other men asked, receiving a punch in the arm for his stupid observation. There was a bit more silence when they suddenly felt a slight tremor, which woke up everyone's from their thoughts.

Damien shrugged. "It wasn't me I swear."

Another quake, this time awaking Mimi.

"I want to go home." She said softly.

"It's okay…" Ellen leaned his head against hers. "We'll be home soon."

"What on earth is that? It's coming from the city…"

"Think it's the guards coming to help us?"

"How would they help us? Honestly, they didn't teach us protocol for helping those trapped in a bubble in the center of the Blackhounds."

"I have a feeling I know who it is." Damien said hesitantly.

Another, and another. They were getting closer and closer in repetition. Then they stopped entirely. Everyone sat in silence, looking around.

"What do you think that was?"

"Probably the Blackhounds attacking the city wall." 1 of the men laughed.

"That's not even a little funny." The other growled fiercly.

"No." Freya said. "It was definitely coming towards us.

"All of you need to get as close to the center of the barrier as you can." Damien said suddenly. "The grounds going to shake really bad soon." And a few moments later, the earth felt as if it had suddenly lifted up into the air before coming down hard once again. Immediately followed by the exact opposite as suddenly they plummeted almost a foot, then it was calm. The slime around them shrinking down, flowing away in the direction of the quake.

"What in the world?" Once the slime finally broke below eye level of the barrier, they saw a colossal man standing a few yards away, a man with a dark gray tinted green skin with tusks and stature of an orc, but far taller and bulkier, wielding on his left shoulder a ball and chain just shy of being as large as a normal man.

"What the hell is that?"

"A half orc." Damien said. "I think he's half orc, half colossus."

"Colossus!?" 1 of the man gawked.

"I-I think." Damien shrugged.

He had created a fissure in the ground, too deep to measure. The ground they were standing upon was uplifted aw well, keeping them at a safe height away from the Blackhounds which was once again no more than ankle high now that it was pooling to fill the scar.

Damien sighed with relief as he lowered his shield, the sphere of flames surrounding them extinguishing in the breeze. "Thank goodness, did Banon send you?"

"Girl send."

"Girl?...you mean Cutsy? Why would she send you?" Damien thought aloud.

"Who's Cutsy and where's Banon, I thought he sent you!?" Freya asked.

"No, Silverfried sent me." Damien shrugged.

Freya scowled, she could have figured that out.

"Damien ready to fight?" The half orc asked, his expression not changing.

"Fight, no let's just get out of here."

"No, 2 guy follow me. We fight."

Damien hesitated, taking a step back. "I-I don't want to fight. I'm not read- AUGH!" He grabbed hold of his arm which his shield was attached to, biting his teeth together tightly. Freya gave a silent gasp as her eyes broadened.

"Uhh…" He fell to 1 knee. "O-okay. I-I'm ready I guess." He said finally going limp. Freya looked at the other men with him but they didn't seem to have noticed. They were either staring at the orc or the river of Blackhounds surrounding them.

As the orc foretold, 2 men had appeared from the direction of the city wall, but Freya was relieved to see 1 of them was Silhouette. "Mimi, Ellen." She said turning to the both of them. "Get back to the city."

"What's going on? Why are those men attacking the guards?" Mimi asked with a mix of fright and energy.

"I can't explain right now, but it's too dangerous right now." Freya said.

"What do you mean you can't explain right now?" Damien turned to her. "You're not…you're with them aren't you? No, you can't be with them. You're supposed to be with Silverfried!" He said quickly pressing his back against the orc's. His eyes filled with worry as he held his shield before him.

Freya slowly stood. "Go now. I wont tell you again."

Ellen and Mimi looked up at her with readless expressions and the 3 slowly ran past Damien and the half-orc and she ran to Noel's side as the children hid behind her.

"I'm glad to see you Silhouette." She turned to Noel. "Hello, I'm Freya."

Noel didn't take his eyes off the half-orc. "I don't care."

Freya hesitated, surprised by this response. "Ahem…my name is Freya Haildred, guardian soldier to the town of Terimiune. I'm glad to meet you."

As she finished talking, Noel's normally black eye suddenly glowed red, finally turning and facing her. "No you're not."

"What?" Freya gave a hesitant laugh. "Yes I am."

Again Noel's right eye glowed red. "That's not your name."

"What do you mean that's not my name."

"I mean your last name isn't Hardhead or whatever."

Freya scowled. "It's Haildred!"

"What the hell is going on here?" 1 of them men asked, shocked that Freya had taken the 2 stranger's side.

"You soldiers need to leave." Freya ordered. "Take these children to Banon, and tell him to watch Silverfried, he can't be trusted."

The men looked from Freya to Damien. 1 of them took a step forward. "It's our job to break up fights like this before they happen."

The ground around the fissure began to moan from the liquid pressure it was now taking.

"The children take priority." Freya yelled. "They're in danger being this close to the Blackhounds. Get them out of here."

The soldiers all looked at 1 another, then to the half-orc who had an ugly stare upon them.

"You're crazy for trying to take this 1 on." He said before they walked over to Ellen and Mimi.

"Fei-chan?…" Mimi said as the guard took her arm, hurt filling her voice but Freya did not turn around to look at her, a few moments later the sound of the soldiers walking away had been drowned out by the sound of the fissure's strain.

"This-this is bad. Leopon doesn't know we're out here, this is bad." Damien looked up at the half-orc.

"Leopon?" Freya said quietly, reminding herself to remember that name.

"Neither of these 2 are among the Chronicle are they?" Silhouette asked, looking over the orc carefully.

"They aren't among the 15 leaders." Freya said. "The boy isn't aware that Spire controls the Blackhounds."

"It doesn't matter what they know. We need what their Helix knows." Noel said, finally breaking the stand off by taking a few steps forward.

"I don't think it'd be a good idea to try and use that shield." Silhouette warned. "It obviously makes the decisions, not the boy."

"I'm aware. Neither of these Helix are of any use to wield." Finally Noel stopped, taking a small breath as he closed his eyes and grabbed the hilt of his sword. Then slowly he drew his blade, a beautiful snow white katana, The Beloved. Freya felt a shiver run up her spine as she felt the hatred from his sword, she could feel its desire to drink the blood of those around it, with no interest in details.

"Get back." The orc ordered Damien who very quickly obeyed. The orc quickly extended his arms outward to both his sides, allowing the colossal iron balls chained to him to extend out as far as their small chains would allow.

"Freya. As soon as I get that shield off him, use your trick to find out as much as you can from it." Silhouette said.

Freya bit her lip and finally nodded. "Okay."

Then Silhouette leaned forward, taking a few steps forward before suddenly bulleting towards the half-orc, Freya hesitated, surprised by his speed before rushing right behind him as fast as she could manage. The half-orc took a large step back as he approached, swinging his arm forward, sending the ball hurtling directly at him though he easily ran past it ducking under it's chain and kept running without managing to lose any speed, until the Half-orc continued to spin and kicked him in stomach hard. He lurched forward, clutching his stomach hard. When it was immediately followed by the orc hitting him hard with a punch, knocking him off the ground he stood on a few feet away. Just in perfect time to get hit by the iron ball as it finished making it's circle and he was hurtled across through the air. Landing quite a distance behind Freya who immediately halted herself in time for the ball to cut through the air in front of her. So she jumped back a bit to regain balance and turned to go attend to Silhouette.

"A-are you okay?"

"That's interesting." He said slowly standing up, with a smile. "He uses martial arts, and uses those iron weights to support his martial arts to both hit his opponent after his attack has already connected and to prevent the opponent from being able avoiding his physical attack. If that ball had hit me anywhere besides where it did, it would surely have crushed my ribs or skull."

"So you can't get close to him?" Freya asked.

"Once you've gotten into the range of his weapon, I bet all of his assaults he delivers are nearly impossible to avoid without getting hit by the momentum of those weights and you can't stop his attacks either simply because of his weight and bulky body structure."

Noel turned from Silhouette to the orc, gripping hold of Beloved tightly. The orc glared at him coldly.

"Aren't those Helixes as well? That means besides all that, they also have some kind of power, I wouldn't be surprised if it was some means to deal with projectile attacks like arrows. If that were true, that would mean that this orc thing is truly unbeatable."

"Silhouette." Noel said rolling his eyes. "You saw only 1 attack of his and you're already claiming him to be unbeatable. Could you shut up?"

Silhouette grew cold eyes as Freya failed to hold back a small chuckle. Noel then too ran at the half-orc. His sword held to his side, again the Orc took a step back and swung his arm hard to get the chain balls to start spinning once again. Noel ran straight into the path of the ball before kicking off the floor, jumping over the first ball. He landing on the orc's chest before kicking off getting well out of range before the 2nd ball followed behind it. The orc as Noel predicted raised 1 of his arms over his head to attack Noel while he was on his body, causing the ball connected to his arm to go in vertical path as oppose to its normal horizontal route. It did a wide circle over his head and slammed into the ground hard, causing an identical quake to those as before, however it landed very close to fissure. Immediately causing the ground around the orc to crumble away and the entire area where both Spire members were standing collapsed to pieces sending both Spires hurtling into the Blackhounds.

Damien screamed as he fell but his shield, acting on its own put up a large barrier, this 1 resembling ice rather then fire as it caught him and the half-orc before submerging into the black liquid and rolling with the current and spilling down into the fissure.

"Oh my…"Freya was simply stunned how relatively easily Noel had managed to defeat both of them at once.

"They're not gone, get ready." Noel said, the fissure moaned more and more violently, having it's entire structure been compromised by the attack. Quickly loud cracks began to echo from below the ground, with them ripping the earth apart a few moments later, larger and larger the cracks below them. "Get back." He said just moments before it let out a loud moan and extended ruptures outward far past where the 3 warriors stood and slowly they filled up with the Blackhound which caused them to forced apart.

"Damn that giant's tough." Silhouette surveyed the cracks which extended almost all the way to the city wall.

"Hardhead." Noel turned to Freya.

Freya's cheeks got puffed up. "HAILDRED!"

"Hurry up and get the chakram. Then take it to Myew or the town square allies."

Freya nodded, not speaking aloud her concerns that she hasn't been able to find Myew in 2 days. "Why now, don't you need my help?"

"No." Noel said as the 3 of them began putting plenty of space between them and the edge of the black ocean as the pieces formed from the cracks began to spread further apart and even slide down into the Blackhounds. "If we need to make a retreat and these 2 return to the city, all of us will be stalked by the halfling."

"Uh…" Freya nodded. Either way she was about to encounter 1 of helixes, but Noel was right. Attacking him now seemed essential now. If they win, he'll know because the 2 Spire members who left the city did not return, and if they lose. They'll them him who the traitors are. Freya smiled slightly. "Do you think it was a good idea to fight them now? Shouldn't we have waited for have beaten the halfling?"

"No, in the city anyone can be on their side" Noel reminded her. "Out here we can assure they are alone."

Freya felt ill, there were a lot of guards who patrolled the wall with the halfling, it wouldn't be unreasonable to position more then 1 up there. "Thanks." She said rudely as she turned and ran for the city.

"Are you sure they're both not defeated already?" Silhouette asked. "They've been submerged for quite a while."

"I'm sure." Noel said. "They're either or trying to find a way back up or trying to find a means of retreat."

"What if they're just plotting some strategy or trap?"

"Then I'll never call you an idiot again." Noel said with a slight smirk.

Silhouette scowled at Noel. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Well considering 1 is a coward and likely never considers showing leadership, and the other isn't even fully articulate."

"So do we have a plan then?"

"I dunno. If we did, you wouldn't ask me that." Another slight smirk from Noel as we watched Silhouette try to keep his face from showing Silhouette irritation. "We need to keep them separated so the guard can't protect the orc. It should be an easy task."

"Sounds good enough. How much longer are we going to wait?"

"I don't know. It would be inconvenient if the guard was clever enough to use the Blackhounds as a means of retreat…"

"It's appearing to be that way." Silhouette frowned. "I think it's been over 5 minutes since they went in."

"Silverfried told me he needed a few of the guards from the wall." Freya lied when she was stopped at wall entrance. She was surprised the guard didn't immediately accept that answer but he let her through. She was glad but still curious as to why Silverfried's name wasn't yet automatically justification for anything among the stationed guards. She could understand why he wouldn't have need for the patrol guards but stationed guards need a reason before you can pass by them. That meant that either Silverfried collected his guards himself or have specific people work as summoners for him.

Freya walked up the steps of the castle wall. Her legs burned a bit, she was still tired from running. Once she got to the top she was awed by the immediate sight of the Blackhounds. A literal black ocean as far as she could see on that entire side. She could see a few hills and mountain faces poking up from it like islands.

She glanced down where Silhouette and Noel should be but couldn't see them, but no matter. She turned and started walking along the wall's edge. Sighing pitifully at how large the wall was, just thinking about walking all along it made her hurt more.

Noel was now sitting down. Patiently waiting, Silhouette was pacing back and forth.

"They had to have left by now." Silhouette growled. "What we need to do now is go help the girl, and leave those 2 behind."

"I disagree." Noel said without looking up at him. "This is a rare chance to stop 2 Spire members that I do not wish to pass up."

"That girl is an asset with her ability to speak to helixes." A few moments later, a red glow emitted from the Blackhounds until finally Damiens barrier emerged from the liquid and rolled onto solid ground as he released the barrier and fell to his hands and knees.

Silhouette and Noel looked at one another and stood up.

"Hey?" Silhouette called out. "What happened to your buddy?"

"Damn…" Damien said to himself. "I couldn't hold it anymore."

Noel stood over the boy, grabbing hold of his arm. "Are you alright? I can heal the burns the Blackhounds give.

"Uh…" Damien looked up at Noel timidly. "N-no I'm not burned."

"Fine. I'm going to ask you to give me your helix."

The boy looked at his shield and recoiled with a sharp tone. "Never."

"You can't beat us."

"…No…I can, I have to. Then Silverfried would be proud of me and I wont be yelled at anymore, Xavier will accept me."

Noel took a step forward and immediately a large barrier of red flames surrounded Damien, catching Noel's arm. Noel was gasping heavily, the pain was blinding as it occurred but absent immediately when he withdrew.

The barrier immediately disbursed. "You wont get my helix."

"You're all alone." Noel said, attacking the timid boy's self confidence. "And it's obvious that barrier fatigues you."

"I'm not alone." The boy said taking a step back closer to the Blackhounds. "And it doesn't matter if I'm tired or not. Xavier can produce a barrier even if I'm completely unconscious."

Noel gives Silhouette a small nod before Silhouette finally takes a few steps toward Damien. He screams out, a red glow appearing around him for a moment when Silhouette grabs hold of his arm. He lets out a scream and tries to pull away, when almost immediately, the earth erupted into rubble not to far behind Noel and Silhouette as the half orc let out a scream that sent shivers down everyone's body. His body, rather then being the dull green color, was now a burnt brown. He held his arms high over his head, ignorant of the inhuman weight of the shackles restraining him.

His entire body dripping with deadly black liquid as he crawled slowly from the crumbling ground beneath him, now barely able to support any of the 4 men's weight.

"It's becoming no longer safe to fight here."

"Obviously." Noel rolled his eyes.

"I no let you go away." The half orc said with a cold glare as he took heavy steps towards them.

Crescent sat upon the wall ledge casually with his knees to his chest as he watched Freya approach, his eyes following her since she arrived into town. She stopped before the halfling, glaring into each others eyes. Freya's expression remaining blank and emotionless while the halfling had a soft smile staring back at her. Finally she walked up to the nearest guard who stood post near by him.

"Uh…yes?" He asked, looking at her confused as she walked up uncomfortably close to him, glaring into his eyes.

"Silverfried asked me to send 1 of the wall guards to escort 2 children safely home."

"Why?"

She took a few steps back. "Multiple of his guards were sent to the farms and he's short handed at the moment."

The guard placed a hand on his hip, the other shaking his head. "And your cold stare tells me I did something to get stuck with this shitty task."

"Something like that. Sorry, but trust me. You don't want to be at the farms right now."

"No I suppose not, alright where are they?"

"They at the guard headquarters right now, if someone already escorted them home already. Check up on them."

"Ugh." He shook his head and headed for the exit.

"When you get to the guard at the door, let him know that you're doing Silverfried's task. He's expecting a few of you to come down."

"I see…well good to know I'm not the only 1 getting bum busy work."

Freya sighed heavily before finally turning back the halfling, still glaring at her with difficult to read smile. "Getting rid of the near by guards. That's good forethought. You must have thought of that on you way back."

"Actually I thought of that when I had to make an excuse to get past the guard at the wall."

"Oh." The halfling's smile was replaced with a disappointed puzzle. "I was half hoping you had a plan, able to stay 2 steps ahead of me and all. Seems as though you just came up here expecting to get my Spire after an exciting battle that you expected to win on no more than determination...you may be a female but other then that, you are no prepared for your duties than any other soldier guarding this city."

Freya clenched her fist before stepping forward with chest held up. "What you say doesn't matter, I'm not backing down."

"That…" The halfling said, stepping down from the ledge. "Is exactly what I'm saying."
